Your DNA sample is stored safely in our high-security laboratory facility, which is protected by 24-hour surveillance. The samples are kept anonymised, with no personal or identifiable data.
Along with the UK Data Protection Act (1998) and EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) legislation, we fully comply with the Human Tissue Act (2004), that covers the handling, storage and disposal of genetic samples.
We will not share genetic data with any third party without your express, written consent. You can request that your DNA sample be disposed of at any time. To do so, please contact us: support@fitnessgenes.com.
We do not share data with any third parties without your express consent (unless there is a legal obligation or judicial order).
In order to deliver your orders, we need to transfer relevant delivery details to suppliers, contractors and other service providers. This may include information such as your name, contact details (email, address and telephone number) and address details you specified when making a booking.
We also may need to share your information with business associates and other professional advisors in order to provide you with our Products and Services.
We sometimes (only with your prior consent) use your genetic and lifestyle-questionnaire data for research and development purposes. This allows us to both improve our products and contribute scientific knowledge to the field (e.g. academic publication of research findings). This may involve sharing your data with academic groups at Universities of Birmingham and Loughborough. In these cases, your data is anonymized and pooled, so there is no way of tracking genetic data to a particular individual.
Your participation in our research is completely voluntary - you have the right to be excluded from our research studies at any time. If you wish to be excluded from our research and/or have your DNA sample disposed of, please contact us at support@fitnessgenes.com.

FitnessGenes takes the privacy of our customers’ data very seriously. Your personal details are password protected and stored on secure servers to prevent against unauthorized third party access. Similarly, your DNA results are anonymized and stored on a separate, secure server. Your saliva/DNA samples are also anonymized, barcoded and kept safely under 24-hour surveillance.
We do not share data with shared any third parties without your express consent (unless there is a legal obligation or judicial order). We may sometimes use your genetic and lifestyle-questionnaire data for research and development purposes: to contribute knowledge to the field (e.g. academic publication of research findings), or to further improve our products. In this case, your data will be anonymized and pooled so there is no way of tracking genetic data to a particular individual. You have the right to be excluded from any further studies beyond your personal use of the Products and can request this, and/or your DNA sample be disposed of at any time by contacting us at: support@fitnessgenes.com.
