Are you a 23andMe customer looking for additional health and fitness insights? Then we have some excellent news for you. Due to the fact that 23andMe and FitnessGenes process samples using the same genome sequencing panel (Illumina® Global Screening Array), 23andMe customers can upload their existing DNA data to FitnessGenes for instant access to all reports and recommendations, and for a fraction of the cost of a full DNA analysis test. 

Here is our step-by-step guide to exporting your DNA data file from 23andMe and uploading it to your FitnessGenes member account:

Downloading your DNA data file from 23andMe

1. Log in to your 23andMe account at https://www.23andme.com/signin/

2. Once you're logged in, click on your name in the top right corner of the page, and select "Browse Raw Data" from the drop-down menu.

3. You will be taken to the "Raw Data" page, where you will need to click on the "Download" button.

4. Before you can download your DNA data, you'll be prompted to enter your account password for security reasons.

5. After entering your password, you'll see a pop-up window that asks you to select the format of your DNA data file. You can choose between the standard "Text File" format or the more comprehensive "All DNA" format. Select the format you want and click "Download."

6. A file with your DNA data will then be downloaded to your computer. The file will be in a .zip format, so you'll need to extract it to access the actual DNA data file.

Uploading your DNA data file to FitnessGenes

1. Login to your FitnessGenes account at https://my.fitnessgenes.com

2. Select ‘Upload Data’ from the top menu

3. Enter the 12-digit voucher code that you received when purchasing your DNA upload from https://www.fitnessgenes.com/products. 

4. Select ‘23andMe’ from the dropdown list of providers

5. Use the ‘Browse’ button to locate and upload your DNA data file 

6. Once the file has completed uploading, you will have full access to all 140+ genetic reports, each delivered with personalised insights and actions.
