Honey roasted chickpeas

Chickpeas are inexpensive plant protein powerhouses and these tasty, sweet, savoury treats are a great way for even the fussiest of eaters to enjoy all their nutritional benefits.  Chickpeas are rich in protein, fiber and essential minerals like manganese, copper, phosphorus, iron and magnesium and are staples in some of the world's healthiest cuisines.

Serves 4

Ingredients

1 ¼ cup (240g) cooked chickpeas
½ Tbsp (8ml) honey
1 Tbsp (15ml) vegetable oil
½ tsp (3g) salt

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F (175C) and line a baking tray with baking paper
  2. Pat dry the chickpeas with paper towels
  3. Pour chickpeas, honey, oil, and salt into a medium bowl stir until evenly coated
  4. Spread evenly on the baking tray and bake for 20 minutes, giving the tray a shake halfway through
