The Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent role as Executive & Business Support Officer to the Chief Executive. The role would ideally be suited to an experienced, proactive, forward-thinking person who can provide first class administrative and research support to the Chief Executive.

This is a challenging and varied post where an eye for detail is essential. You will need to have an ability to develop creative solutions, make critical decisions and evaluate and develop methods and strategies for completing tasks and projects.

Primary tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Manage and support in projects including the recent COVID testing service
  • Update current and create new process documentation and standard operating procedures (as part of establishment of a new Quality Management System)
  • Liaise with industry experts to manage HR and recruitment duties, including keeping HR files up to date
  • Manage business insurance renewals and company share option scheme admin
  • Complete and file official paperwork
  • Organise and schedule meetings
  • Prepare meeting agendas, perform research for meetings, and take minutes during meetings
  • Book business travel arrangements, including flights, transportation, and lodgings for senior management and other staff members
  • Communicate with Board Members, schedule Board Meetings, arrange meeting agendas and take minutes
  • Liaise with clients and business guests
  • Maintain electronic filing system, ensuring processes and software are up to date and in working order
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with other relevant departments, including engineering, operations, sales, and marketing
  • Liaise with other staff members on behalf of senior management

Desirable skills:

  • A scientific degree
  • Experience in reading and understanding legal contracts (e.g. NDAs, IP agreements, insurance schedules)
  • Experience in understanding intellectual property


Full time (37.5 hours). For the right candidate, part-time hours would also be considered.

33 days holiday a year, inclusive of any statutory bank/public holidays. Working hours are those necessary to undertake the role, usually Monday-Friday 9.30am to 5.30pm, but some weekend/evening work may occasionally be required. We are a family friendly business and flexible working will be considered.


We would expect at least part of your week to be spent working from our shared office space in Bicester, Oxfordshire. However, this role is open to remote working meaning you aren't required in the office 5 days a week. We would welcome a conversation with the successful candidate on what pattern of working would suit their personal needs.

Please do be aware that as part of this role, you will need to be able to visit our other office location in London, Southbank, when required.

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 FTE (dependent on experience)
